Simple solution for illegal alien problem

I just can't believe all of the garbage floating around Washington about what to do with all of the illegal aliens we have working in this country. Our politicians keep talking about amnesty or giving them a path to citizenship, there are even some talking about deporting all of them. Well in my opinion there is a much simpler solution that would make the majority of Americans happy. Allow all business owners who have illegal aliens working for them now apply for a temporary worker permit for their employee. This permit will allow the worker to stay here legally while they have a job. Have a one or two year time frame for all employers and employees to get legal, after the grace period any employer caught hiring illegal aliens would be fined $50,000. per illegal employee and any illegal alien caught in this country would be imprisoned for no less than 5 years and then deported. This allows current illegal aliens who a here working to stay at their job and it allows employers who say no one else will do the job to keep their employees. Plus it implements harsh punishment for failure to comply which in the majority of cases will be enough to keep people from coming here illegally.
